How we brought together 12 authorities under one digital roof in Greater Manchester.
The Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) consists of 12 separate local authorities, from Stockport in the south to Wigan in the north. Our challenge was to develop a new careers site and employer brand that would bring them all together.
The central brand we created – greater.jobs – brought a bright, fresh look and feel that's different to anything else in the market. And within that, we worked with the different authorities, using their brand colours, iconic landmarks and areas of interest to bring each one to life.
The new site was designed to handle heavy traffic (circa 357,000 users and 10,000 jobs per year) and appeal to every audience from School Leaver to C-suite hires. And as well as selling the location of each authority, we developed a bespoke Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for no less than nine.
As well as searching for specific roles, candidates can now find out what it’s like to live in each area and filter content by the criteria that are most important to them. From first impression to application, the whole thing delivers a far better candidate experience. And of course, its mobile friendly. In the first 8 months, the site posted 6,876 vacancies and received 51,504 applications, allowing the participating councils to make 1,006 job offers.
